Mickey Thompson Baja Boss X

Hey everyone I’m Ben Anderson, Senior Product Manager for Thompson Tires, welcome to SEMA 2024.

We’re here at the Mickey Thompson booth showing off our latest and greatest truck and off-road products.

What I’ve got here is a Baja Boss X. So we brought this tire out in 2020 in its original version, which was basically a Baja Boss M/T with a radial compound on it.

In 2021, we added a unique 4-ply construction to it… bias ply, bias ply, radial, bias ply. What that does is that helps improve puncture resistance of the sidewall. Also helps tighten up the carcass, gives quicker reaction steering to inputs, and more stability.

The next year in 2022 we change the compound. In 2023 compound again, and added more rubber to the sidewall even greater puncture resistance.

Now since we brought out the 42s and the 44s in the Baja Boss M/T, we had to bring the 42s into the Baja Boss X program.

So we’re now going to offer a 42×13.50R17 and a 42×13.50R20, in additional to the 37X12.50R17 and 40X13.50R17. So we’re going to have four sizes in the Baja Boss X product.

This is going to be a great product… you’re going to see this thing on recreational rock crawlers, 4400 Ultra4 rigs, all kinds of extreme off-road application.

These should be available in January, about a month before King of the Hammers, and looking forward to standing on the gas with these bad boys!

Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T first look

Just received this set of Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires to evaluate.

The Sidebiters on the new Baja Boss A/T are the beefiest sidewall tread I’ve seen on an all-terrain, and appear as rugged as most modern mudders!

Much more about these in the weeks and months ahead.

First look, pairing, setup, and use of the Warn Hub Receiver wireless winch remote.

Made for most Warn winches plus a vision for other brands.

The app was fast and intuitive on my iPhone 8, and displays battery voltage.

Warn has a great and detailed video here about all aspects of the Warn Hub receiver and app.

Factor 55 Rope Retention Pulley 30 foot pull

First use of the Factor 55 Rope Retention Pulley, approximately 11,500 pounds, rolling, up a slight grade for 30 feet, using a Warn 16.5 ti-S winch. Ambient temperature was 55° F. The temperature of the Rope Retention Pulley, in the sun, was 86° F before starting and 86° F after; there was no measurable temperature increase during this test pull. Total winching time was about two minutes, the video was edited for easier viewing.
