Four Wheel Campers outfit crawling to the Crystal Mill

Crawling to the Crystal Mill, Monday, August 10, 2020.

The area was a bit crowded and popular for our liking, we had planned to continue beyond the mill, but decided to go elsewhere.

Timbren SES Single-Convoluted DRTT3500E first look

Timbren Single-Convoluted Aeon spring

Timbren’s SES (Suspension Enhancement Systems) severe-service, single-convoluted Aeon rubber springs were an excellent upgrade on my 2017 Ram/Cummins 2500 Hallmark flatbed camper outfit.

The double-convoluted version I have been running for six months worked well, but the shorter and firmer single-convoluted spring is a better fit for my application. Not stiff or jarring, but more supportive and less squishy. Combined with other recent upgrades, my camper outfit drives fantastically.

Tire Puncture Plug Repair Overview

Tire puncture repair overview while traveling and attending the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I carry the tools, know how, and plugged the tire after the show in the convention center parking lot before a dinner meeting on Wednesday evening. Thanks to Extreme Outback Products (Ultimate Puncture Repair Kit and ExtremeAire Magnum 12V Portable Compressor), Wagan Tech (Brite-Nite Wayfinder LED Light), and Hallmark Campers (bright, side eyebrow lights), and the mild weather for making it an easy job.

Initially I thought the puncture was a rock from the rough road I traveled to my camp between days of the show. However, it was an inch-long, 1/4″ bolt that I probably picked up on Highway 95 heading to camp after the first day of the SEMA Show. I don’t blame Cooper Tires for the puncture. Some tires are more rugged than others, but road hazards are real, and all tires are just balloons that can be punctured.

Rancho RS9000XL shock absorber testimonial

Rancho 9000 shocks have been on several of my trucks over the past 20+ years and I still like them. They are much better than the factory dampers, and adjustable, which can be pretty fantastic for trucks that are often lightly loaded, and/or heavily loaded.

Want to go fast, then maybe a race-inspired shock is your solution? Got a heavy load, a less sexy (and less expensive) heavy-duty damper might work.

Toyo Tires C/T Tracking Review

Toyo C/T 35×12.50R17 update.

The tries track straight and true on my built 2017 Ram 2500 Hallmark Camper project; even after a recent front suspension modification that yielded 2.75-inches of lift.

Excellent drivability is not just desirable, I demand it from my vehicles. If my rigs don’t drive well there may have been a change or failure during the build that needs correcting.
